My topic stemmed from my concern about single-use plastic as a pollutant that persists in and damages the environment. Based on experiments and research papers, laccase(s) of P. ostreatus are heavily speculated to assist in its degradation. Investigation into the potential significance that laccase has for the degradation of plastic as one of the main enzymes in action. This is done using CAZy (Carbohydrate-Active Enzymes) and selecting identified laccases present in P. ostreatus using the accession code and Run BLAST. Distance trees are formed.
